"Barefoot Bandit" gets 6.5 years of federal time


SEATTLE — A federal judge in Seattle has sentenced "Barefoot Bandit" Colton Harris-Moore to 6 1/2 years in prison for his infamous two-year, international crime spree of break-ins, and boat and plane thefts that ended in 2010.

The "Barefoot Bandit" heads to court Friday morning in Seattle, just days after a memorandum from federal prosecutors detailing emails in which Colton Harris-Moore called prosecutors and police "swine," "fools" and "asses."

Colton Harris-Moore, aka, the Barefoot Bandit, was sentenced to six and a half years in prison Friday.
